Blackberry's BBM now on Android and iOS

BBM for Android, iOS to roll out 'within days

Three weeks after its botched attempt to provide BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) for Android and iPhone, BlackBerry is all set to release the much awaited messaging service all over again to non-BlackBerry devices.

Speaking to Reuters, Frank Boulben, BlackBerry's chief marketing officer, said, BBM would be launched for Android and iOS "within days". He also said that the company had fixed some issues that had arisen after the initial cross-platform launch of the messaging service earlier.

The BBM rollout was suspended last month after an unofficial older version of the messaging service was downloaded by a number of Android users that caused issues with the messaging platform.

Boulben said BlackBerry already has 6 million Android and iPhone customers pre-registered for its BBM service.
